Ramon celebrates 25 years as a sworn NVM broker
Last Friday, Ramon experienced a special milestone in his career: he received the traditional estate agent’s staff in honour of his 25th anniversary as a sworn NVM estate agent. The official anniversary date, 14 December 2024, was exactly 25 years since Ramon was sworn in. The awarding took place in the presence of two representatives of the Amsterdam Real Estate Association (MVA). Both former chairman Jerry Wijnen and current chairman Joris van der Peijl were present to congratulate Ramon and hand over the staff personally.
A symbol of tradition
The realbroker’s staff has a rich history within the real estate profession. It was once used in the 17th century to stamp deeds and served as proof of the broker’s competence, with it one could recognise a licensed broker. Although the staff is now primarily ceremonial, it remains a powerful symbol of the dignity and role of the real estate agent.
Since the swearing-in of estate agents at court was replaced by registration with the NVM in 2001, the estate agent’s staff has been offered as a tribute to estate agents who have been active in the industry for 25 years. The handover is therefore a moment of pride and recognition.
Praise and recognition for dedication and craftsmanship
During the presentation, former president Jerry Wijnen expressed his admiration for Ramon. He praised his engagement, honesty, integrity, reliability and tireless commitment to the brokerage profession. Jerry praised Ramon’s creative spirit and highlighted how he consistently manages to find a buyer for every residential property and a suitable tenant for every commercial space.
In addition, Jerry took the audience back in time and shared some fun facts from 25 years ago, when Ramon started his career as a real estate agent.
Finally, Jerry thanked Ramon warmly for his valuable contribution to the MVA. According to him, Ramon’s commitment to the association and his contribution to the field are immensely valuable and show how important he is to both.
A Meaningful Gesture
Besides the official brokers’ staff that Ramon received from the MVA, he also received a special staff in the form of a pin. It was given to him by his father, who also had a long career as a broker and ran his own office. This underlined the shared passion for the real estate profession.
The presentation of the realtor’s staff was celebrated with champagne and cake. Colleagues and family were present to congratulate Ramon. Also, Ramon received a number of video messages from fellow brokers.
A tradition that lives on within the NVM
With the realtor’s staff, Ramon continues the tradition of the many brokers before him. This symbolic gesture is in recognition of his years of service and emphasizes the importance of tradition, craftsmanship and integrity in brokerage.
